I decided to post a picture of me as a musher (dogsled driver).

This was taken at the 2009 Cache Valley K9 challenge (in logan utah).

I feel comparable posting this photo because, honestly I'm covered in snow gear and who wants to impersonate me anyway.

I've been a musher for about two years now. It's awesome!

Imagine leaving all your fears and worries behind for a moment. Winter's icy breath sliding over your cold cheeks. After you settle into a tempo with the dogs everything seems to be steeped to a new sharp focus. Crystals seem to fill the very air and ground, and the soft woofing of the dogs breath, and the soft noise of the runners over snow can relax you into a deep trance. Much of the time your running between the runners with the dogs.

or ITS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!!!

Woah...sounds damn cool! In Lapland it is possible to go on dogsled-safarai. Too bad it costs quite much.

It's awsome. And sorry about the prices, they do need to feed all of there dogs, vet bills, gear,...

It's actually quite expensive, but how I do it, I don't actually own any sled dogs, I work for the kennel and they let my run dogs to my hearts content.

Definitely  Yes, it is understandable of course.
I hope I'll have a chance for it someday :D

Wow, you're really lucky to have such employment then!

Snow is not everything, in fact, dry land running is a lot better for training. Me and the dogs run allot on four wheelers when it's fall and we don't have snow yet, and even when the snow comes but its not "good" yet. YAY FOR MUSHERS!

I have a few suggestions for you and training, I hope this helps ;) :
1) Be careful when training your dog. Most dogs love to pull but you can "burn them out" if you push it way to hard (especially with young dogs ex: avoid lead training until almost two years old).
2) THE most important thing to teach a lead dog (or the dog if your only using one) is to gee-haw ("gee" is right, "haw is left") train it. Go ("Hike" whistle whatever motivates your dog) and stop (say a command like "wo") come more naturally.
3) It's inhumain to run them in anything 40 farenhight or higher.
4) Use 'buffer' commands when going or stopping to catch the dogs attention so they can be ready. DON'T have long pauses in between them though, one then immediately the actual command. (ex "Are you ready, Hike" or "Easy, Wo" NOT "are you ready," one...two "Hike"

Cache Vally! I knew that sounded familiar! ;)

Anyway, great photo! Not that anyone would be able to tell what you really look like, but at least this gives somewhat of an idea!
